We are a diverse community of believers who come from all walks of life. We welcome people of all ages, races, and backgrounds, and we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. Our family includes people who have been members their whole life, and people who have just started coming in the last couple of months. "Come on up, there's room on the porch for everyone!"
We had members write what it is they love about Walnut Church. One notable response: "We were looking for a church home when we came to Walnut. After being here one Sunday we knew this was home. We didn't look any further."
We embrace the "Come As You Are" philosophy. We embrace it wholeheartedly!
At Walnut Church, we believe in not just "talking the talk", but also "walking the walk." That means we don't just talk about loving our neighbors...we do it. Some of our ministries include:
- Supporting the Argos Food Bank with donations and occasional staffing.
- Ongoing support for Ronald McDonald House with periodic drives for supplies.
- Volunteer support for the "Sleep In Heavenly Peace" program which builds beds for children in our community who do not have a bed.
- Making blankets for children in Memorial Hospital and for area nursing home facilities.
- Help whenever needed for our neighbors in distress.
Our Sunday morning services are designed to offer all a point of connection to Almighty God. We acknowledge our need for a savior in the person of Jesus Christ, and our gratitude for the salvation his sacrifice provides for us.
